Recently, I discovered a small mark on the wing of the car.
Usual things to try and remove - water with wet tissue, spit on it and rub tissue etc - no joy.
On careful inspection it appeared to be a tiny stone chip; car is Vapour Grey and the mark seemed to be black and I could feel that it was below the grey surface. (I had driven over loose stone surface that day)
After much huffing and puffing, I ordered a touch-up pen online having decided not to make a claim on the paintwork insurance as it's a Β£25 excess anyway.
Pen arrived - genuine Volvo part - and I cleaned the car ready to apply the speck of paint.
Only one problem.......paint chip had disappeared !!!
I called my Director of Operations (= wife) to inspect as she had seen the paint chip. She could not find it either.
Now, don't get me wrong - I'm very happy not to have to use the touch-up pen in anger just yet - but the question is, do Volvo use some form of 'self-healing' paint...or are we both actually getting hallucinations?
Am I going mad???

I cannot upload a picture because.........it has gone!
I really thought it was a gift from the pigeons as I have had plenty of that (My fault for keeping the vehicle shiny?)
Running a finger nail over the mark, I definitely felt the paint missing rather than something above the paint level.
Stovo - I did try the whisky test......drink about half a bottle and then breath alcohol fumes on the mark. Who actually cares if it doesn't shift it then, hic, burp !!!
