ceramic coating
Yes, supagard bionic applied by specialist detailers at supplying dealer. Has lasted very well , got a hefty discount off the advertised price, if you don’t ask….!! If having applied to a used car seek out an independent valeter, they’ll be much more competitive than a stealer.

Definitely recommend but some are better than others. You won't go wrong if its Supagard Bionic. As Metroman states, negotiate hard and you should get a hefty discount as the prices may be a bit loaded at the dealership, and if new, very little prepping is needed with fresh new paint. Try not to view ceramic coatings in the same way as superior waxes, its a different science that works and lasts for years.
Thread necromancy. I’ve had my last 3 cars ceramic coated. In 2014 my A4 cost £500, used GTechniq, and was very good, I washed and topped up using the sam3 products. Lasted for the 7 years I had the car. Then I had my Cupra done in Labotechnic or somesuch, not impressed. And finally a CX-30, again GTechniq, but now nearly £1000 with paint prep. So with the XC40 I decided to skip (and get a nice set of grey pleather/alcantara seat covers from Seatskinz to brighten the all black interior). My car is 8 months old, I got it at 6. Paintwork has quite bad swirl marks, but hand compounding is too much - I’ll be buying an electric polisher. So, I washed the car, clay bar-ed it, went over with panel wipe, then used Turtle Wax “Grahene ceramic” paste wax with their applicator pad. Followed by rinsing with demin water and spraying on Turtle Wax Flex coating. The beading is awsome! I’ll see how long it lasts. I also did the black plastics with Meguires and some GTechniq C2 I had, might try the Turtle Wax next time. Also used GTecniq glass clean and water repellent products (tho not the latter on the ‘screen as it can smear IME). Two days work over Easter, and I enjoyed it, and it was maybe £50 if product.

We had supaguard on the wife's SLK when it was new in 2005. It lasted 10 years before needing polishing again. Now using Autoglym products on it and the finish remains glass like. The XC40 was done with Autoglym Lifeshine when new. Now 2 yers old and beading like new. Really ease to clean. The dirt just seems to fall off with little effort. We did get a quote for GTechniq - £1200! Lifeshine was about £400 I think

With any of the products currently available if they are applied correctly then they are all very good. Then if cared for as per recommendations the durability is also excellent.
Alternatively after a thorough wash and dry a modern Si O2 Detailer such as those from Meguiars and Auto Glym which as marketed as “Ceramic Sprays” can have a real life durability of around 3 months. So a £15-20 bottle giving you easily 12 months of protection for hardky any effort and not a high cost.

Had the Lifeshine, and like Cevoli21 find it is protecting the paintwork very well and eases cleaning.
