As Den48 comments above I went for Aviva Zero as it was the best quote, mine actually reduced from £310 to £256. Must be one of the lucky ones. They say to get quotes from at least 21 days before you existing policy runs out to obtain best price!

My renewal went from £352 last year to £623 this year, viewed all the usual comparison sites and that renewal quote wasn’t too bad with most of the quotes being £700+ with the exception of Aviva, that was £429. The policy with Aviva is online only with the exception of making a claim.

Did some research and reviews, all insurance companies are good at setting up a policy and taking your money but what are they like when making a claim? Anyway went with Aviva after further research and an ok verdict from which
I’m with Aviva Zero (Aviva’s online only platform) at renewal (December 2023) I had my B4 and payed just over £500 but was still cheaper than other comparison sites. When I got my B4 Ultimate in January 2024 I just paid the difference which on an almost 12 month left policy increased by only another £54 and that included my change of private reg which I think is pretty reasonable. Changes are easy online and their is an online chat available but you can’t talk on phone which seems to be par for the course nowadays

I ended up using Volvo Car Insurance (LV) for £37 a month for my new B3 Plus after making use of the complimentary 7-days drive away insurance. My previous insurer, online-only Flow (also LV), were strangely unable to locate the make and model of my car when new...

Insurance quotes seem to be a minefield. My quote for Volvo car insurance ( same car as riskymoth) is £56 a month and I have full no claims and no history that would impact negatively on quote. Ignoring cheaper quotes from questionable companies, best all round at the moment is £461 from Aviva; strangely the Aviva Zero quote is much more expensive???

BEV's are partly to blame due to them being scrapped if ANY possibility of battery damage. Therefore we all have to pay.

Our offer from Admiral went up from £400 to £600 for a Xc40 B4, that’s with a joint H&C insurance (additional £400). Looked around but couldn’t get a much better offer with hire car etc.

gedger wrote: Sun Mar 03, 2024 4:44 pm I've always used LV and found them to be competitive, offer a well priced breakdown (Britannia Rescue) and the claim service to be quick and fair.
I have car insurance for 2 cars, house insurance and travel insurance with LV.
Just had my renewal notification for the house and travel insurance.
House increased by 62%, Travel by 47%. Car renewal last October was +32%.
I have moved house insurance to Direct Line, cost is less than last year with LV.
Travel Insurance to Admiral, £200 less than LV. I’ll be moving the car insurance too.
I have NEVER made a claim on any insurance in the last 45 years.
LV really are taking the public for mugs, holding us all to ransom… 😠
