Reading a lot on Facebook forums about clutch and gearbox woes at around 30k miles on the T3 manual petrol engines. I am on 22k so feeling a bit nervous and unsure about keeping the car much longer. Have any members with this model variant done more than 30k miles and NOT needed a clutch or gearbox replacement. Cheers.

When we had our XC40 (T3, 163bhp), one of the many issues we had was the clutch pedal sticking down - this started circa 20k miles but was never resolved as the car was traded in at 24k miles

I’ve seen the Facebook posts you refer to, and there’s an awful lot of them so I can see why you would be concerned. Having said that, I assume most T3 manual cars haven’t had this problem.

The reported responses from Volvo UK and the dealerships, if true, are despicable. It would seem there’s a real problem that they’re not yet prepared to own up to. Not the first time though (for Volvo, or other manufacturers).

Hopefully, you won’t have a clutch problem on your car, but changing your car early is probably going to cost you. I wonder whether it would be worth getter your clutch checked in light of the reported problems.

If it’s causing you concern now - will it / won’t it be a problem , then if you are slightly considering swapping, I’d probably go for it, still silky season on trade in and 2nd hand car prices, so a good time to cash in (provided you’re looking at a new / stock car).
Fingers crossed it doesn’t cause you any issues if you do keep it

Or budget for a replacement clutch assembly? Probably worth getting price from a Clutch or a Volvo specialist.
