Volvo XC40 T4 AWD 2020

Hi - does anyone know or know where to find out what the service intervals are and whats involved for each one please?



1. What is the service interval?

I believe it is 18,000 miles or 12 months, whichever is sooner.


2. What are the elements of each service?

I mean what is carried out at each service, there must be a schedule of works?

1st service / 18000 miles / 12 months --> work schedule?

2nd service / 36000 miles / 24 months --> work schedule?

3rd service / 54000 miles / 36 months --> work schedule?

4th service...........etc., etc..


Does it have a cambelt? Or a cam chain? What is the service interval?

Gearbox/transmission is it sealed for life? Oil and filter changes?

AWD transfer box? Oil change interval?

Propshaft?

Does anyone know?

Hi

Mine is also equipped with a T4 engine, however, it is a PHEV w/o AWD. What I exerienced is: cabin air filter and engine oil+filter to be changed on every service (due at 30thousand km or 1 year, whichever reached sooner). Engine air filter to be changed every other service. Brake fluid to be checked for water content and to be changed if needed (no regulation given in years). Spark plugs to be changed after every 60thousand km-s. Other that that I do not know.

Thread resurrection. I too am wondering about service inetrvals (which in the UK for recent XC40's appears to be 12 months / 18000 miles - the link above is to a Canadian dealer so not relevant to the UK).

Does the handbook / manual specify the service schedule (my outgoing Mazda handbook did, quite comprehensivley)

Is the specification and quantity of oil stated? (Ok I've a service plan for years 1 and 2 but hey, it never hurts to know and from year 3 it'll be put of network)

Is there an interval specified for the DCT transmission? (on my Audis it was 40,000 miles)

And what about air and cabin filters, brake fluid and plugs etc.

Manufacturers like to hide this information nowadays, to scare you into using franchsed dealers, and unfortunately Volvo (like manay) don't have that many independent specialists (compared to, say, Audi), although I do have one not too far from me for the future.
