Recent delivery of new XC40.
Tyre pressures were set at 40psi so reduced them to the recommended 33psi.
Amazed at how long it took for the pressures to be stored - roughly 8 minutes.
Is this normal?

Yes, it’s normal. The system stores tire info not by measuring the actual pressure, but by counting the number of tire revs. At least 5 minutes of driving are required to achieve an accurate measurement.

Thanks for this.
I had no idea.
In my previous car the pressures were stored almost instantaneously.
I sat in my driveway for several minutes waiting for the pressures to be stored before getting fed up and driving away.
It was while I was in transit that the correct message come up.
All makes sense now!

Calibration process is covered in "Wheels and Tyres" section of manual.

There isn't such a section, as far as I can see, in the Android interface.

I’m looking in the MY2023 manual for AAOS and the information is there as Blastpipe indicated. Search for Tire Pressure Monitoring System and you should find it.

Thank you very much for this.
Genuinely grateful
Page 596 of the manual I'm looking at describes "Hand washing". So I clearly have printed out the contents page of an old manual.
You refer to it as MY2023 manual for AAOS.
Could you please explain what this means and how I can locate this version of the manual - which I am assuming refers to the Android OS
Would be very grateful again. I'm searching in the dark at the moment.

I picked XC40 model year 2023 equipped with Android Automotive Operating System that is relevant for your car.

Owner’s manuals are available on Volvo USA website. Ignore the fact that interior is showed for right hand drive, everything else is identical with your LHD model. https://www.volvocars.com/en-ca/support ... brid/22w22

The full 921 page pdf manual can be downloaded here: https://volvornt.harte-hanks.com/manual ... N%20US.pdf

There is also the option to read the manual from within the Volvo on call app
