Here is my 21 plate T3 R Design. Crappy pics I know one from the advert and one from just now on my doorbell cam.

It is shiny under all that, the interior is immaculate. I have added mud flaps and the rubber floor mats to it, both very nice.

It has a couple of options on it, never thought I would want or need a heated steering wheel but it's bloody lovely on these cold mornings, so is the quick clear screen.

H&K sounds are a bit irrelevant nice to have but would not have paid extra for it.

Has the rear cam and front sensors which is nice but my wife still does not like parking it. I can see having to trade it in in the next 6 months for one with the 360 camera to keep her happy.

Would have liked the ACC but could not find a T3 at the time with it on.
Shame you can't have it fitted, odd that you can on an MY20 but absolutely not on a 21.

The T3 engine is fine has enough power although it does make some not too pleasant noises as discussed in another thread, very tappity, or like pinking (haven't used that term since my MKII escort days).

If we drop my lad off at college it's 1.5 miles each way and sometimes the MPG from the app can be pretty scary at 18mpg other times it's 30 and on a 250 mile trip at 70 something MPH it got 44.6mpg so not bad at all.

18 inch rims give it a nice soft wafty ride.
If it wasn't for the gearbox having a brain fart at the odd roundabout leaving you hanging while it figures out what gear you need to be it it would be pretty perfect.

High mileage @20700 when we got it but that was reflected in the price.
Overall love the thing other than a plastic rubbing rattling from the front over head light unit on any slightly rough surface. If I press my finger against it it stoops, not sure what the dealer would do about it, its blooming annoying and ruins the ambience of the cabin.

I had one for 18months and Volvo had it in many many time in an attempt to sort it, they didn't.
I got rid of it eventually, it was dangerous.
Beware it can cut out and/or start to run on 2 cylinders when your clogging it in the outside lane on motorway. Apart from that loved the car.

Lovely car. I'm sure you will enjoy every moment. I find the Xc40 such a refined car. So comfortable on long rides. MPG will never be good on short runs. Enjoy

Hi
@Andyn, had exactly the same car new in March 21, except my car was a manual, fusion red is great and I have to agree on the 18” wheels might not look the best but I find the ride just right for me and there is plenty of rubber to help with kerbs.

Anyway my only regret was not ordering an auto, back in August 21 when second hand car values were going daft and you could still get a reasonable deal for a new car I enquired about a T3 auto, got what I thought was a reasonable deal , 10% discount and nearly went for it .

In the end I started to look at the B4 auto and managed to secure one for around £1500 more than the T3, collected the car in November 21 same colour and spec. For the 13 months I have had the car there have been no problems and everything works , great car 😀

I was originally stuck on the white with black roof but this was one of those spur of the moment things. We had seen this one on Auto trader about 30 miles away and thought let's go test drive the T3, sure my heart wanted the T4 or T5 but with the cost of fuel and such my sensible head said 160odd BHP should be fine and it was. We did about 40 miles and it drove very nicely and I really like the colour.

After a bit of a chat with sales and a very good trade in on our 2015 fiesta we just went for it.

Way more money than I have ever spent on a car £13000 was the most prior to this.

As I said would love to have BLIS ACC and 360 camera but unless I go back to an early 2019 or late 2018 you are lucky to find one for 30k.

I do wish Id known you could retro fit this stuff to a MY20 as I may have gone down this route.

Even so I love the ride, I can do many miles in comfort. With the climate pack on this the heated seats and steering wheel are awesome.

Does anyone know if the sist of updates for software shown in the app are just available versions or are they version installed on this car?

It's listed as car software.

The latest update installed on your car was when it had its last yearly maintenance service.

It's last service was 2 weeks ago when we bought it.
How do you know if they have actually checked for and done the software update or do you just have to trust them.

Software update, even if done free of charge, should be mentioned on the invoice received for the yearly maintenance service.
Since your second-hand car was bought from the dealer I would trust they did the update.

Works for me, I read the Glimpse app was discontinued on the system but mine updated when I contacted to my home WiFi.

The dealer forgot to stamp the service book so they are supposed sending me some paperwork through and the next time I pass their Coventry branch they will stamp the book, I may ask them to check if this has been done. They are also posting a P Sim as I pointed out they are supposed to supply one with the service, I won't really use it but it will work for traffic updates on the nav.

Got home early with a bit of daylight left so gave the car a clean. Nothing special, needs a clay bar to get it smooth and I have found some touched up chips I some how missed when I purchased it. Although it was wet every time I went to the dealer.

I do like this colour.
