Mrs out yesterday, few miles from home, gets a warning light for FNS tyre. Definitely down. We've only got the gunk. So I suggest she tries VOC.

First on is a semi-interested lad, who tells her no-one's available then cuts her off. Mrs tries again, gets a friendly lass who says someone's on his way.

Local breakdown guy (Mrs didn't notice who) arrives within 10mins, removes a little screw from the tread area, and does her a get-you-home repair. Brilliant.

KwikFit this morning. Repairable #howoftendoesthathappen £25.

All's well that ends well.

PS tried the KwikFit Club app, thinking it'd be a booking in, price up thing - instead of a browser. But it's an insurance service. For tyres/repairs only, it quoted me £7.67pm. A Michelin 235/55 R18 fitted all in @ KF is £210, so just to break even it'd need 1 new tyre every 2 yrs. Sods Law of course, and I am a retired insurance chap, so see the value of peace of mind, but I think I'll pass.
