Pre - conditioning works fine for me on the 13A plug. I tend to not let it run the whole 30 minutes as I find it's warmed up and ready to go after 15 or 20 minutes. I'm not sure if it eats into the battery range. On one occasion it seemed to, on another not.

Yes it does.

However if the car is not plugged in then it will use a combination of the battery and if needed, start the engine as well but note pre conditioning and comfort climate (as Volvo calls it) are slightly different things (under the same button on the app).

Pre Conditioning normally relates to getting the battery warmed up to give optimal performance from start where are Comfort Climate is all about having a nice hot or cold car when you get in. But when plugged in, pressing the button in the app does both and when not plugged in just heats or cools

A full charge could take between 4 and 7hrs, so you can will be pulling a lot of juice from a regular socket - Overheating may be an issue, you may wanna plug in and monitor for a few times before you leave it overnight.

Ok ,have now had the T6 for four weeks ,it's a great car ,love the auto high beam ,lights are really good and bright ! bliss is amazing ,as is 360 camera .
Been charging off 13amp socket at night via the app and everything is tickety voo ! car is smooth quit comfortable and fast, brakes are good but but are aggressive in use , so overall very pleased !

Skimm, It takes about 4.5 hours to charge from empty to full and the Volvo cable has built in protection to prevent any danger of overheating. The maximum draw is 10A, well within the continuous capability of any UK domestic circuit in good condition.

Had the T5 four months now! enjoying it.
When I get home during the day I plug it into wall socket (not charging station)
I then go to my Volvo app and it indicates car is fully charged ,when it isn't.
I then go to "manage charge locations" and click on my home address as the charge location to charge ,this is set to charge at 0030 to 0530 ,so to charge through the next night after midnight
The car charges through the next night fine and if I check the app through the night it shows it is charging ok!
So why does it show the car is plugged in and fully charged all day before the night time charge event?

Hi it's a fault with the app mine never shows the correct amount of charge

Volvo Cars app update version 5.16.0 was released today. It might address the bugs described in this thread.

I have a T4 recharge and I have a SmartKnight outdoor smart socket , can switch on off via Wi-Fi, socket has a built in timer , schedule and logs kwh, I am just putting solar panels on the garage roof with a 4.5kw pure sine wave inverter and some agm batteries so it can charge via solar power.
