Ha. Just back from walking
Noticeable on our walks the village seems to be 75% Volvo or LR.
Spoke to a few XC40 users and they all seemed happy. Hence our choice.
Loving my 1 year young XC40 :)
Could not agree more - how an individual buys, rents, or by what ever means (except theft) obtains their personal positions is nobody's business but there own - just like to help adjust the balance when too much bias and not enough fact is so apparent??
Yes. I'm out on this one.
The only bias I see here is from users who seem to dislike CbV.

Volvo provide you with a fully funded vehicle and you pay monthly....and that is not finance? Really?

In as much as renting a vehicle from Hertz is a finance deal then yes you are correct. But what is your point?
A question to my learned Financial friend, in the interest of balance, if ones Investment Portfolio returns around 15% + annual growth; which makes most financial sense - Outright Purchase or Monthly Rental?

No problem with that. Just pointing out that over the long term it is much more expensive. We each assign different values to different things. I would never assign a value of £9,000/yr to the P8, which is what the Pro at 10,000 miles/yr would be (with a 3 yr contract - more like £10k/yr month by month). And I also value long-term ownership over getting new things frequently.JFDIT wrote: ↑Fri Jan 07, 2022 11:39 am Semantics.
I rent my XC40, no upfront payment, no final payment, no option to purchase, just a car on my drive for as long as I want for one monthly fee and 3 months notice to switch or dump. Simples. It suits me perfectly at this time. What is your problem with that?
Only point was that from a legal/regulatory perspective, subscription is regarded as a financial product. With regard to the other issue, I of course take your point, but it is all about balancing certainty and risk, as well as thinking about how often I actually need to change my car. Last car I had for 11 years.JFDIT wrote: ↑Fri Jan 07, 2022 3:32 pm In as much as renting a vehicle from Hertz is a finance deal then yes you are correct. But what is your point?
