Pointless indeed. But so is anything purely cosmetic such as badges to denote spec level or paying extra for a different wheel design. If you like it, that's the only answer you need...

No less or more tacky than the light up crystal gear knob you get on the Inscription! ( My other half has something like this on her new Mini Cooper - a Mini logo is projected on the ground)

Where did you find it?
It was on eBay.
Says it’s for an XC60 but fits fine and no errors.
A bit fiddly to fit as the wire is short so I had to unbolt the bottom of the doors and squeeze my hand up inside to fit the wire connector but all good in the end. The first took me 15 minutes, the second about 2.
Easy to return to original as well if I decide it’s too tacky!!
