logic would suggest key and car not synchronising correct causing the system to shut down - especially as no fault codes evident and all ok when following a locking and leaving re-set?

My wife had this issue this morning. She parked up in the local supermarket, came out and the centre console display was mostly blank, ie, showing connecting phone but not finding one, the dials were black. She tried switching off then on several times, 10 or so minutes later it burst into life. The previous day the sat nav stopped working, time for a dealer visit.
2022 T5 Recharge.

I suffered it twice, engine and electrical start but goes off slowly. The electric part remains on. I just left the car locked it, waited few minutes, unlocked it and worked.

I bought a volvo to avoid these micro heart attacks. I owned a golf iv and never ever behaved so weirdly.
