Hi,

I know the T3 is not the most powerful of units, however mine seems to be very sluggish and seems slower than the one I test drove.
I've only done 500 miles and I'm convinced the performance has dropped.

The max speed I've had is 90mph which seems way short of the stated max speed. Also the turbo doesn't seem to add any boost and only seems to contribute excessive noise.

Anyone had similar or have you got better performance from your T3 that could indicate that mine has an issue?

I'd take that back if I were you. I've heard others say that their T3 is pretty quick.
I've got a V40 D2 at the moment, less power than the T3 and it's plenty quick enough and I've easily found myself going 90+ so I always use the limiter.

Not had any issues with my T3 - more than happy with performance. Not pushed top speed yet but certainly no issues around town - pulling out, passing others etc. Have you tried the different driver modes ? As I said in another post - I think if you are use to a more powerful car then you may be more critical of the smaller engine size performance. As I have moved "up" from a 15year old 2L petrol CRV (I had from new for 15 years), I find the performance more than acceptable.

I to have a T3 manual and no issues with the engine or the response and very quiet, more powerful than my 2016 V40 R-Design 2.0.
The XC40 is also quicker of the mark, more than happy, as I'm one for running in I had a quick burst on the way to Harrogate and amazed how quick I got to 80 effortless so perhaps pop to your dealer for a checkup. I'm also running in comfort mode if that helps.

No complain here. I've driven my T3 more than 2000km and the engine is powerful (for a 156hp 3 pots) and quiet.
There might be something wrong with yours.

Hi just placed a order for XC40 T3 reading various reviews some have commented on power etc, As a 66 Year Driver my days at Santa pod are over, speed limit and 70 my lot.

Some have said change to T4, which I can do as order still at change position. as fuel economy same all bar few mpg. Do you find your T3 fine for odd long journey and shops etc ?

Many Thanks J

Just picked up my T3 yesterday and I have to say I'm very surprised by how powerful it is. I've come from a very nippy V40 to the XC40 and there is minimal difference for my needs.

I would suggest having the car looked at by your Volvo dealer as what you're saying suggests the car is faulty

We test drove a T3 manual (MY2019, so 150bhp) and a T5 auto.
The T3 performed very similar to our current 2017 diesel Tiguan, if not a little quicker on the sprint. Obviously doesn't have the low down diesel grunt but still impressive for a small engine.

We took the option of the MY2020 T3 manual (156bhp), seemed an ideal replacement for the Tig.

What made you change from the Tiguan?
When I got rid of my XC40 I was looking at replacing it with a Tiguan, in the end I got a 60 plate 2.0T petrol Insignia as a far too expensive runabout to give me time to decide.
Just placed an order for a Ford Focus Active X (only because of the 0% APR offer at the moment) but it was very nearly the Tiguan.
