Has anyone had any experience with the service department (front of desk not workshop) at Snows Volvo Southampton

I’ve just had my XC40 T5 serviced there and the whole experience from those at the service desk has made me feel like I’m doing them a favour.

I’ve written an e mail of complaint but I’d be interested in others experience

No, but went for a test drive at Winchester Snows had to give licence to copy + NI number sign my life away then did about 2 miles then was asked to swap for other half to drive back very poor then more signatures. Did a VW test drive few days before looked at our licences gave me keys and said you have 1hr. We've no made up are mind yet we like the xc40 but volvo customer care so far really sucks!!

It really is a lottery as far as dealers are concerned. I stuck with my original dealer who are about an hour's drive away even though I've got two others who are much nearer.

It seems that even though some manufacturers say they want to know about customer's experience via surveys etc. they don't seem to do much about poor dealers as there are still a number of bad ones about and I guess because they sell lots of cars.

As far as Volvo are concerned I wonder if going agency will have any effect on customer service?

Oh yes that’s another thing. Paid £600 for service and it was £25 for a loan car which they failed to mention when I asked for a loan car when booking the service. When I queried it I was told it’s a new policy. I suggested they should mention it when people ask for a loan car and I was met with silence. No apology just silence.

I've used Waylands Volvo in Reading for the last four years - bought two cars from them and had all servicing done by them. I've been very happy with their attitude and work. I don't know if the agency arrangement will affect either of those.

Had a service done by Brindley Wolverhampton shocking attitude definitely won’t go back.
Actually just remembered when they dropped it off I’ve had no paperwork to say it was serviced
Is it all online now the as the software was all updated
If not I will have to call them again and bang my head against a brick wall

You should get a sheet that shows the status of the various checks. Green, amber or red

Yes I had one of those emailed but not an invoice with the items used on
The car has a service plan I’ll give them a call

This could be why you’ve not had an invoice. I’ve not had my first Volvo Scheduled Service yet, but with other manufacturers and service plans I’ve been given paperwork for health checks and complimentary roadside assistance, but never an invoice for the work carried out. I’m guessing the invoice goes to the service plan administrator.
