I see that, after the latest update, my app shows more info.
I now have outside temp, miles remaining in the tank and overall mpg since new.
I am reassured that the mpg since new is 103.4 mpg !!!!
Pity it isn’t matched by reality !!

100+ mpg is a known bug introduced with the latest update.

I drive the D4 engine and my iOS app shows mileage with no errors or strange results. However, I hate the fact that you can't name the trip anymore, nor you can expand individual trips within the grouped one. Couldn't find any single improvement in the newest iOS app, but UI changes within Driving Journal that are lousy and way less informative :(

Version 5.36.0 for iOS was made available today. Hopefully this update squashed the mpg bug for iPhone users having AAOS cars. Updated app for Android phones should also become available.

Unfortunately not the data is actually wrong on the central Volvo servers so it is likely that the car is actually reporting the wrong values.

So it appears to be AAOS bug, not Volvo Cars app bug. As mentioned by others, for cars with Sensus OS the correct mpg is shown in the app.

I have a developer account on the Volvo car platform and the data is incorrect there so it could be the platform messing up the data but I agree with you that it’s more likely to be an AAOS bug. I’m surprised that Volvo shows the value in the App when it must know the data is wrong.
