Three beeps from rear of car

I’ve noticed in the past that sometimes, when I walk past the rear of my car, it emits three beeps. It did it again yesterday and I wondered if anyone can tell me what it is doing.

When it did it yesterday, it had been parked and locked for around 24 hours. My car does have keyless entry and a hands free tailgate, but I didn’t have the key with me.

Is the same three beeps you hear after unsuccessful foot kick tailgate opening?

I didn’t know it did that (never had a problem opening with my foot). However, I’ve just gone out to my car (without key) and tried to open the tailgate with my foot. And yes, those are the three beeps I sometimes hear. Mystery solved. Thank you.

Was about to suggest the hands free boot sensor, good to know what these beeps are for.
I tended to get it when washing the car
