I wonder if you have the brake set to automatically engage when you stop the car. It can then jerk a little as it releases when you press the accelerator to move off. Try releasing the brake yourself by pressing down the control button in the centre console between the seats before you move - like releasing the handbrake in a manual car - and see if that helps.

WelshRobin, you've hit the nail on the head.

The first thing I did on day 1 was press the 'Automatic braking when stationary' button (immediately South of the parking brake lever). And then relied on the brake automatically disengaging when pressing the accelerator.

That would explain it.
Many thanks.

Of your choices I’d go for a B4- if it really is the same price, you’re getting the current model, and it’s a good bit more economical than its predecessors.

The only way to drive an XC 40 is sedately. Handling is awful. No grip whatsoever, zero road feel and the brakes are terrible

Couldn't disagree more. My Rd hugs the road beautifully and brakes are superb.
Did you test drive it before you bought it?

That is such cobblers that it's hard to judge how to respond.

Having looked at all 6 of your posts on this forum, it doesn't appear that you have any intention of contributing usefully (criticism can be useful, but that isn't what you do).
