I'm considering purchasing a T3 manual but having difficulty sourcing a demo. Just wondering what sort of MPG folk are seeing?

I have covered 6000s miles and achieved and average of 38mpg. Not a lot of long motorway journeys , but I recently achieved 41mpg from Kent to Cornwall, that apart has mostly been local trips and town driving. All in Comfort Mode. Driver Error: Engine is so quiet, that I am late in changing up. Used to Auto. Tip, Get used to the RH dial instruction.

BTW Love the car.

Ours has done 2400 miles now and averaged 34mpg, mainly around town. On a run seems to get around 44mpg.

My volvo on call app is showing 41.2 mpg average. I did get up to 51.6 mpg according to the trip computer on a run from Norwich to Chesterfield. Overall I am very happy with the fuel economy.

At nearly 4000 miles, am currently on 42.8 mpg. Mostly comfort mode with some Eco on motorways. Have achieved 50mpg on a couple of 100mile+ trips (interestingly in both comfort and eco).
Very happy with this and absolutely love the car......

Appreciate the responses so far - thanks folks.

The car will predominantly be used for town work, that said it's a quiet town and none of it during rush hour. The car will do around 6 journeys a day, each journey lasting no more than 4 miles.

Those averages don't seem that bad, however I'd be seriously disappointed if it were to return 32mpg. As the username implies I owned a 2.4 V70 Classic in 1999, replaced with a 2.0T S60 in 2002 and finally a 2.4 V50 in 2004. Those cars all returned around 31mpg. 20 years down the line, I'd hope Volvo's smaller 3 cylinder 1.5 aided by modern electronics and fuel saving measures would show an improvement :D

Currently drive a small SUV with VAG's 1.4tsi and that averages around 40mpg so XC40 should hopefully be pretty similar according to above results.

Ta.
