Hi All,

I just had delivered the Buzz Rack EAZZY 4 from Roofbox but it is absolute rubbish!

Anyone have a recommendation for a tow bar mounted bike rack that will stay in place? I have tightened the tow bar as much as I physically can and it will stay in place when the vehicle is stationary, but as soon as you go over a bump it becomes loose and then in the corners...It has damaged the paint on the back of my XC40 as a result.

See the video:

We used to have one that you had to ratchet tight, but if the silver collar hadn't fully disappeared when you placed it on before tightening, that would happen

The Thule one works well but it is not cheap

I agree the Thule is the best available and will not swing plus you can get models that tilt for easy boot access. They are not cheap but they are quality.

Not got round to trying my buzz bc3 rack on the xc40 yet, but never had any issues with it on my previous jeep. Do you have the factory towbar on yours?

Yes it’s factory fit tow bar, it’s once you go over a bump it loses grip somehow

Can they make that a condition for replacement/refund/redress when the design or quality is not adequate?

I have a Westfalia BC60 (this is the same one as supplied by Audi, but with their badge on it). A quality bit of kit. It worked great on my Audi Q3, but I haven't tried it on my XC40 yet.
Ordered 24th February 2018: XC40, FE, T5, Crystal White, Lava Interior (additional black carpets), 19" wheels, mud flaps, Tow Bar, Polestar, was expected June/July, then 1st October.
Finally took delivery on 16th October 2018. 8-)

I fitted the bc3 and it seems fine, can't get it to budge once it's on.. roofbox are pretty good with returns so I'm sure you will find something that works. Wonder if they changed the mounting system?
