What Car? Magazine has awarded top place in its 2021 ‘Family SUV of the Year’ class to the T3 R-Design auto. Not bad for a model that has been on sale for a few years now!
Coming second to the new Evoque is good going especially with the Evoque starting at a higher price.
If the Evoque had a more useful boot I'd have probably gone for one of those..it being British built.

Had to read that twice and check the award; you mean "coming ahead of the Evoque which took second place" don't you?
B4 AWD Inscription , Fusion Red, Blond interior. Drivers Assist, Climate, Tinted rear windows and Towing pack.

T4 Auto AWD R Design March 2019
Hi All
Nice to see XC40 doing well in what car , car of the year, as stated earlier there is a further report that puts the RRE as the best suv. IMO these reviews defy logic and I take them with a pinch of salt.
The same magazines reliability report for 2020 puts the RRE as the least reliable suv out there and the Land Rover brand stands at the bottom for reliability 31 out of 31 according to their figures 20% of Land Rover cars go wrong. XC40 aside, how does that make the RRE the best suv ?? (Xc40 petrol was 5th in the most reliability category).
It’s not just What Car, Auto Express have recently run a review of the top ten Suv and despite the magazines high reviews of the XC40, this particular reviewer did not even rate the XC40 in the top ten, in his opinion he thought that the ssangyong Korando was a better buy. I did email the reviewer with my points, needless to say he hasn’t replied. ;

Sorry I failed to put the link in my original post. The two different listings are quite confusing and I think a pinch of salt is entirely appropriate. Nice to see the praise though, whether for first or second place.
