Volvo's latest press release confirms this will be present on all MY20 models as production starts next week.

Interestingly, though, is that, the note to editors at the end, says it will be available on all SPA CMA models from MY16.

Free upgrade, cost upgrade, or typo do you reckon? I hope it's free as these sort of things are of little use until critical mass is reached.

That’s cool. My car’s in on Wednesday for row bar and some warranty stuff, I’ll ask the question then. Might play on warranty quality as a reason for a free upgrade if it’s to be paid for.

Certainly says they are available for MY16 onwards but doesn't say free. Good luck and let us know how you get on!

Spoke to the dealer this morning. He’s looking into it for me, but did think it would be a chargeable upgrade. Surprised me, should be part of the OnCall package.

It'll be a real slow-burner for Volvo & road safety if they do charge.

It's a bit of a catch 22 - not many will want to pay for it before it becomes effective / it won't become effective until a lot of people take it up.

UPDATE:

Now available, along with a couple of other nice changes (we'll I think so anyway - audio volume increases to compensate for engine noise, wheel vibrates when Pilot Assist disconnects):

Don't think so - see wording:

"........ You can update the software in your Volvo to the latest version in connection with a service at an authorised Volvo dealer........."
