We had a 2011 Volvo plus a RR evoque , the latter was stolen in 2014. In 2015 we bought a new xc60. Now we are changing to a xc40.

Just curious as to why you’re moving away from the XC60?

The new XC60 is bigger than the old version, actually the xc40 and the old model xc60 are more comparable. The interior size is almost the same, the only thing is a smaller boot for the xc40.

That’s interesting to hear. I had a q5 sline and an xc60 on extended test drive and ended up ordering the 60 as thought the Audi felt dated (and I’ve previously been an Audi man). What didn’t you like?/quote]

Where do I start!
Auto gear box is awful, It doesn't know what gear it wants to be in, expecialy when, say, slowly rolling to a roundabout and you try to nip out, theres no power, its borderline dangerous. Same when going from R to D or vice versa. Had it back to audi but they say they are all the same. Forums generally say the same also.
The buttons are fidlly to get to and see whilst driving, the MMI is dated, its too awkward to use, sat nav takes ages to programme.
The giant wing mirror, no matter what height I set my seat its there, (and I drive a van so I'm used to big mirrors).
The centre arm rest, I've nearly had a John Cleese moment trying to get it to stay up!
The foot rest for your left foot, its 3" lower than the brake, I can just get my toes on it with the seat set for to drive comfortably (yes my legs are the same length).
I feel it was put together in a hurry just to get a small suv on the market and is in serious need of a new model. I've took a £3500 hit just to get rid of it, (27 months into a 48 month pcp deal)

Mercedes A220 - Fancied a change, test drive everything going Volvo won by a mile, mainly the heated steering wheel did it for me!

Mini Countryman. Was considering X2, Q2, T-Roc, Countryman E, and Lexus NX

really wanted a green XC40, but hay-ho
Hope the XC40 is as good as a 1976 244DL with its long range & short range fog lights

Did have one of these in the 80's, my Uncle gave it to me.
But this time its a XC60SE LUX PREMIUM D5 has to go

I’m moving from a BMW 420d. Fancied a change in style and the tech and comfort of the XC40 totally blew me away.

I will be leaving behind a BMW i3 which has been a great car for last few years, pure EV and no issues at all. Just fancied a change and the XC40 fitted the bill nicely. Having owned three XC90s in the pre Chinese years, it’s staggering how Volvo have retained their good points but also dragged themselves into the tech world.

My BMW X6 40D X Drive
I am going to miss it. Phenomenal car. Rocket ship fast comfortable (active anti-roll suspension) and well Specced.
Running costs are crippling though. 3 sets of tyres at £1400 a set in 55k miles.
The XC40 seems to offer all the same Kit for a lot less money. Can’t wait!
