2014 Volvo V40 T2. Glad I’ve gone with a bigger engine (T5) the T2 was a little too sluggish for me. Can’t wait for March

Mercedes SLK to XC40 - Decided that its time for Mrs S to have the SUV that can carry the granddaughter, and stop her borrowing my car! Whilst the SLK was a nice drive, I am not a hairdresser :)
This then allowed me to swap my first edition Jaguar F-pace for an Audi S5 coupe.

Volvo V40 R Design D4 2015 model
Traded in and got a good deal (although the dealers only play with "numbers"), will be happy when I take delivery (hoping for 22nd March).

My V40 D4 goes like s**t off a shiny shovel in Sport Mode, I think my new XC40 D4 will be a little slower due to 4 wheel drive and being a bit heavier but I can't see it making a massive difference.

Does sport mode really make a difference? I thought it just turned down the traction. The T2 is not bad it’s just the low miles I feel I get doesn’t warrant the not so quick engine.

Sport Mode definitely makes a difference on my V40 D4 unless I’m affected by placebo? 😂 It’s much quicker off the mark

I’ll have to have a play around with it then! Either way an extra 130 horses to play with is a big step up for me  double to the T2!!

I’m unsure but I think the XC40 sport mode is activated via the touchscreen, this might be a bit cumbersome in comparison to my V40, which is activated by knocking the gear lever to the left. If the XC40 doesn’t have this feature I can see me leaving it in Sport most of the time. I’m at the launch tomorrow so will have a play and test drive booked for Saturday (even though I’ve already ordered).
