Well another ex BMW man here - will be leaving behind a 420 xDrive. Nice car, thoroughly reliable. But getting into and out of a coupe in the next few years isn’t going to do me any good and searched around for a sensible SUV. XC40 released just at the right time for me, a sensible car retaining a little pzazz and style - just what I wanted going into my sixties!

coming out of an S60 D4, prior to that a couple of V40's and a C70...

Always fancied an XC60, but wife had a Vauxhall Mokka 4x4, which was fine...

but then we both swapped jobs and i went to the dealership considering a 4wd S/V90, an XC60 (used) or perhaps an XC40 - got such a great deal on an FE XC40, couldnt say no!!

just sat here waiting and waiting!
XC40 FE D4 ordered in White with 20's... might be lucky and have it in May

Not changing handing down a
Toyota Auris SR180 and a BMW Z3 2.2
Reason they are getting a bit low for getting into and fancied a change and an automatic with some torque and toys, a FE T5 fitted the bill.
Been Toyota for the last 20years ultra reliable for 100s of thousands of miles but time for a change.
First Edition T5 20” wheels not just a 245bhp 4x4 ipad.

Ford Focus CC3-D
I've had her years and I love her, I'm still keeping her even when I get the XC40 - she'll be the family summer car.

I am changing from my second Audi SQ5 Plus and third Q5 in total. It’s a great car, but I fancy a change and going for something a little smaller. It was a bit of a toss up whether to wait for the availability of a Hybrid. Given the delays in petrol and diesel XC40 deliveries, I suppose the Hybrids will be later still.
It will be very interesting to see how the volvo compares with Audi in terms of quality. I have had 3 Volvos in the past.
All best, ZED

I'm replacing my 62plate Focus 2.0 TDCi Hatch, Titanium X spec - fab car, but change in jobs etc mean I can afford something a little more luxurious . . . looked at 1yr old Q3 and other similar cars in Jan . . . nothing seemed to be enough of a step up in spec from the Titanium X (mine also has safety pack to Blind Spot, Speed recognition, lane departure etc) .
Then a friend mentioned the XC40 over lunch . . .wasn't on my radar as hadn't considered a brand new car . . that was an expensive lunch in the end :p

I'm changing from an Audi TT 2.0TFSi Quattro. I'd gladly keep it if it could seat 4 adults, but alas no. Whilst 95% of the time I drive on my own or with my wife, the occasions when you need to take extra passengers, it's just a hassle. Otherwise a stunning drive. Looking forward to something much bigger though, and will be my first Volvo. Looked at a few SUV's, but this was the only one I really fell in love with. Discovery Sports/Evoque's looked great, but interiors were disappointing. Didnt want to wait on new Q3 coming, but will probably now find they'll be here before my XC40!

Just need to be patient now. Ordered April, expecting Jan (Q1???)

Same here, this is what made me look around the market on chose the XC40. Unless Volvo delay my order further I may get my XC40 a month or two before the first of the new Q3s arrive
Ordered 24th February 2018: XC40, FE, T5, Crystal White, Lava Interior (additional black carpets), 19" wheels, mud flaps, Tow Bar, Polestar, was expected June/July, then 1st October.
