Hi, just wondered what fuel economy I can expect when my car arrives (in March!!). I have gone with the D4 engine of the R Design Pro. Also, I am going to have the Polestar upgrade installed - will this affect the economy for the worse? Thanks.

I've done 7000+ miles in mine since May. I drive quite quickly though and rarely use eco mode. I also regularly carry two mountain bikes on a tow bar carrier. I do a mix of motorway and small roads driving. I get around 38/39mpg average. (for ref though, I got about 45mpg out of my last focus and the friend I sold it too who drives more slowly than I do is getting around 55 out of it)

Hi Tyson, I get about 40.5mpg in Eco for going to work (about 55 miles return on M27/A36). On a recent weekend break in Cornwall, I got about 38mpg in Comfort on a mix of roads (over 500 miles) including a lot of start/stop and exploring narrow lanes and beaches.

Hi Tyson.
Early days for me with only 500 miles on the clock but I’ve just completed my first long journey of 320 miles almost all motorway with adaptive cruise on 70mph, comfort mode. Could only achieve 40mpg which is quite poor in my opinion. Hope it gets better with age.
By comparison my previous car (SKODA Superb 2.0 Diesel 150PS, FWD) achieved 61mpg for the same trip last year....

My D4 has averaged 43.4 mpg over 5500 miles according to the Volvo on call app. In the last 1000 miles or so I have hit 50 mpg if I really work at it (eco, not exceeding 65 mph, very few stops). On short trips you will struggle to see 40 mpg.

Thanks for all your replies, very kind. I have a 2005 S60 D5 at the moment and that car is getting me 38mpg around town and 45 plus on a motorway run.

Had my first week of going back and forth to work. It’s a 20 mile commute with plenty of traffic and a few stretches of 40-50mph driving. I’m seeing a fairly consistent 44mpg in comfort mode. Will try eco mode next week to see if there is any difference but I’m fairly happy with that. £65 fill up is doing 440 miles. Loving everything about the car so far. The only negative is it doesn’t clean itself and I’m not going to have time to do this every week.
