Voice activation and Bluetooth

When I was trying the voice activation over Bluetooth to play tracks on my iPhone, it wouldn’t find any music. Is this because my iPhone was connected over Bluetooth? Does it need to be wired in?

Any thoughts on this? My last niggle after 24hrs with the car.

Ok. This guy is demonstrating the exact issue I’m having. 
Doesn’t matter if the phone is wired or not...it will not pick up any audio track no matter how clearly you speak. I’ve even tried different accents lol.
I am going to try a hack around this, if you use Siri rather than the cars button, it may work.
