does anybody know:

1/ what the maximum size is of a usb stick that the xc40 can handle (32 gb, 64 gb, 128 gb, ...)?
2/ what the maximum number of songs is on a usb stick that the xc40 will read?

In my peugeot a usb stick is limited to:
1/ maximum 32 gb
2/ maximum 5000 songs
It is probably more of an issue of the number of files rather than GB size of the USB. I think I have a 128GB USB running no problem, but if you look in the XC40 manual it sets out that there are limitations in the total number of files and folders. I think its ONLY 15000 files allowed, I know I was able to get more that 15000 music files on a 128GB USB but the Sensus only recognises a proportion of the files. I could never be bothered to streamline and now just drop back to a ipod, which seems to ignore those file limits and I can access everything.

Wow, far too complicated for me.....bring back the gramophone and cassette.
Complicated - and saps time. But once you are there great for when playing material through most devices. Each though seems to have its own nuance. Sensus is no different.

my peugeot doesn't handle my ipod classic 160gb (with > 20.000 songs) very well (i used to have a volkswagen and that worked great with my ipod)
perhaps volvo does better
what type of ipod do you use in your xc40?

I'm running an 160GB ipod classic (6th edition?). Works well (so far) and haven't hit any file number limitations that I've noted. You might still have a metadata issue - but if it looks okay on the ipod then you should be okay.

To be honest though don't use the ipod that much as typically listen to podcasts whilst driving (I run that off iPhone over Bluetooth - or through carplay on longer journeys) but nice to have the ipod if needed.

Hello all, I also have a 128GB stick, it only handles FLAC, and maybe MP3 (haven’t tested) But it handles High Resolution FLAC, that is nice, my old V60 and even older VW only did MP3.

Having said that, I newer use it, only stream Tidal via. Apple Car Play, and the I also think the Volume is more than enough.

Kind regards Morten
