I've just had notice today my xc40 is in at the dealers, and I generally run All-Season/All-Weather tyres; Which I think are perfect for most of the UK climate. So I am just contemplating a set of these

and leave them on all year.
When I ordered the XC40 T5 FE I tried to get it with 19" wheels, as there are more tyre choice in that size. Now having driven a 20" wheeled XC40 I think I'm happy to stick with 20"ers. For me there are various advantages with running all-seasons, not least of which generally they are better in mud/wet grass , because of there more open tread. Also full winter tyres tend to be less able above 6c, which we have during winter in many parts of the UK. Not swopping around is also a plus to me.
Just thinking it through. And whilst AWD get going better in poor conditions, they really just the same on good rubber as a 2wd to stop.
I guess if you are going to hit serious cold/snow you may want something slightly better, but for many these all-seasons seem to becoming very popular. My choice would be the Nokian Weatherproof-SUV, but I would need a smaller wheel for those.
Looking on you-tube at xc40's it seems that in the USA many come straight from the dealer/factory with pirelli scorpion 245/45/20 all-seasons, but in the UK, no such option, which is a shame
