I have no issue with the car being too far to the right or left in a "lane". I set the distance control at the lowest level, but even so this does give me the one biggest niggle. If I am cruising along a motorway keeping what Volvo obviously feel is the minimum safe distance from the car I am tracking in front, there is still such a large gap that all sorts of idiots (you know the ones - none of this forum's members of course - but Audi, BMW drivers etc.) jump into my gap which of course then causes my car to automatically decelerate and fall back. Just shows that the ideal safe gap is ignored by most other drivers who think I am leaving it open just for them
When I actually get my FE I am looking forward to using Pilot Assist.
On my last car I frequently used Adaptive Cruise Control and would agree with your niggle pjm007 about the gap in front being abused, with Audi drivers definitely topping the list.

I had a software upgrade on mine last week. Have to say pilot assist doesn’t seem as good as it was prior. The time to touch the steering wheel seems shorter and doesn’t register 100% of the time.

Definitely know the system has changed as the icons are different on the digital display

Does the traffic sign capture and ACC allow completely automatic following of the speed limit when you are driving along the highway with ACC on and you come to a town with a lower speed limit so that it slows down thru the town automatically and then speeds up again as you leave the town ?

Definitely cruise control, it’s nice to let the foot rest a little bit on long drives. Actually, are you really “supposed” to take the foot completely off the gas/brake? Seems like the reaction time would be extremely long if anything suddenly was to happen.
