I enjoy trying to get a good mpg...not that I've driven much these last few months..but the cost of fuel is so outweighed by other costs of the car, particularly depreciation, it doesn't really fuss me how often I have to fill up when you view it in that perspective...but I still enjoy the game of how high can it go

In my last car I cried each time I visited the petrol station.

A 90L tank at 1,60€ per L was close to 150€ per tank and lucky to get more that 400km per tank was on average around 22-25 L/100km

Looking very much forward to my T5 twin arriving.

The current “waiting car” a D2 V40 Xc being a diesel costs me an extra 0,50€ in diesel tax per day too.

Are you sure that your last car was actually a car? :D

It’s was actually closer to a land boat 😂

A 955 series Cayenne S with a couple of mods by previous owner. Not sure if it actually had an engine or if it was just a very large hydraulic pump pumping raw fuel through the cylinders and out of the exhaust

Update- as the weather gets warmer the T5 is definitely returning better figures I’m now on 30 mpg. I do drive within the speed limits the majority of the time this mainly in 30 & 40 mph areas with occasional 60mph . This is done in comfort mode 90% of the time for journeys of 2-5 miles, that’s why I didn’t get a diesel !.
I think for the engine those figures are good , looking forward to having a longer trip to see what the return is.

last 600 miles average 33 mpg .

Short trips from cold can be 25 or so but have had 42 on longer motorway runs at 70 mph.

@GCxc40

Similar experience to my own, running at 32 mpg overall with a 170 mile round trip giving me 40.4. This is brim to brim, not the slightly optimistic fuel computer.

Hoping it will improve as we've only got 900 miles on the clock.

I don't bother with Eco mode very often as I got these results in Comfort mode and Eco blunts the acceleration too much for my liking.

Have also found that by monitoring the instantaneous mpg readout, it more quickly gets to 99.9 on a trailing throttle or overrun in Comfort than it does coasting in Eco mode.

Well, this the first decent run since owning the car. I’ve done mostly town trips and get 26ish mpg but today I nearly entered the 40 mpg club....

I’m getting 38.5 with mixed driving in comfort mode so far, identical to what I got over three years in my T2 V40 :o
