The new Volvo XC40 could make it's debut in April 2017 at the Auto Show Shanghai show in China, according to a report in Chinese media.
The show runs from 21 to 28 April and is one of the largest in the world.
In addition to the design, Volvo has placed great emphasis on a large boot and a high seating position, says Volvo Development Chief Peter Mertens. The SUV will rival the BMW X1 and Mercedes GLA when it goes on sale.
The starting price is expected to be just under £28,000.
