Presently on order a XC40, FE, D4, 20" Wheels, ETA October.
Previous cars have been German fully loaded diesel hot hatches with good performance, ride and economy.
Though greatly looking forward to my XC40 First Edition D4, I would like an increase in overall performance and have therefore been deliberating on whether to add Polestar to my order.
I appreciate the general benefits of Polestar, though it appears to add nothing in the way of performance 0 - 60mph or economy.
Therefore is Polestar worth the additional £695 ?

Thanks pjm007, I have read most of the Polestar posted opinions.
Though I would have liked a little more in the way of performance from Polestar and there are other options worth considering.
To keep within Volvo Warranty I have made a decision to have my FE D4 Polestarred

I had Polestar installed on Friday on my D4.
It definitely pulls stronger and the gear change is slicker.
I still find comfort mode too laid back and kind of disconnected. There is still a delay when coming on and off the throttle at roundabouts etc in comfort mode but that has improved.
Dynamic mode is great and very responsive and I generally stay in this mode as I have found that i can get very similar fuel economy to comfort mode and I feel so much more connected to the car.
I think that if you can spare the £695 then it does improve things nicely but it's no transformation.

Many thanks pp67 for your info on Polestar, which I found helpful.

Done it...

Dynamic mode - very nice - more urgency and car leaps forward on the throttle.

Comfort mode - gears changes appear more smooth and the extra slug of torque is apparent.
