Daughter has now had it confirmed that they are honouring the original deal. Small issue in that Volvo have gone ahead and registered it despite being told that she was transferring her private plate onto it. Not a big issue but just more hassle. Should be collecting it next week.

Did yours say it arrived in the Uk? Mine hasn’t even said it’s in the Uk yet after being dispatched from Belgium and it’s been 5 days now

Good news on the deal, but the car needs to be registered, so when she sells and removes her plate, the car goes back to it’s original plate - this is what the garage told me when I picked new car up, but was putting private plate on it

They may say that but it’s not true. DVLA issues an age related number when you take off personal plate. It’s simpler if it has been registered but it isn’t essential.

Your dealer is telling porkies.
Mine was supposed to be registered with my private plate ..even though i had sent Volvo UK the documents but they went ahead and registered it with a normal reg.....I think it is just a matter of fact that Volvo Uk at present is so so unorganised. But wasn't a massive problem in the scheme of all the other issues i experienced.

Great news....same here with the registration but decide to sort myself as i'm sure Volvo Uk would have messed that up too if i'd insisted them do it

When she picks the car up ask can she have the registration plates that were first on the car.. When she come to sell it that reg will return back to the car .. Had my private reg on 5 cars and every time it gone back it the original reg..

I’m having an issue with Volvo where they are saying my car is still in transit to the Uk but dispatched Belgium.
It’s been 2 weeks and they are unable to find out where the car is but won’t do anything to help me. The dealer was expecting the car last week but never recieved it.

Anyone got any suggestions on what’s I can do?

Thanks

Just read an article on FT Edit about problems at the port in Zebrugge. Allegedly the Chinese have shipped vast quantities of EVs to the port but have not booked onward transportation due to much lower sales than they expected. They are effectively using Zebrugge as a European storage depot and thus blocking the usual movement of new cars through the port…
