... and/or what people are willing to pay to have now, rather than wait months. That is effectively the premium being reflected, together with what must be around the cost if you spec'ed up to an First Edition.

I don't think approved dealers should be charging a premium. It reflects poorly on the brand.

If an individual wants to sell at a premium that's OK.

The thing is it’s now a second hand / used car be it ex demo or not so it should be below list price of a new one !!

Porsche have done this in the past when they’ve had supply issues. I wouldn’t knock it; it keeps used values high.

How crass is that hike the price for what you can get for a vehicle that was offered by Volvo as a taster with all the toys on it to generate customer interest.
For me to control the supply/demand just lengthen the delivery time that way you keep your order book full and your customers happy and in the loop.
Personally I would get annoyed if they miss the promise delivery date or just push the purchase price up to stave off ordering in an attempt to spread it out.
Be honest say the demand has taken all by surprise and quote reality delivery dates to your customers.
