This has probably been discussed somewhere on here before but I'll ask the question anyway. When I bought my XC40 R Design B4 last October I ordered the gunge and compressor instead of a spare wheel. As I do about 14k miles per year just on my commute plus another 3-4k on trips away the lack of a spare wheel is a nagging worry in my mind.
Has anyone had the repair kit changed for a spare wheel (I'd be happy with a space saver)? Is it just a case of taking one tray out and dropping the other one in? If so what was the cost? I'm expecting circa £250.
Spare wheel.
Here’s the thread you’re looking for: viewtopic.php?t=2565
I had a space saver spare wheel with wheel brace and jack supplied and fitted by the dealer when I bought my nearly-new XC40 two years ago. The price was £275 including the VAT. The underfloor tray has to be replaced but I don't know if anything else has to be done to ensure the spare is safely located.
