Does anyone know if the XC40 is susceptible to being stolen by signal amplification or would it be wise to purchase something like this?
Key signal amplification
Never heard of this happening, but I believe the key itself needs to be in the car unless you have actually given permission on the Volvo app.
You can even lock your spare in the car as it gets automatically deactivated when you lock the car with another key (ie one designed for the beach).

I have two. One smaller one for the day to day key. The second for the spares which aren't really touched but are still active and so a risk.
The simple "solution" for this would be for Volvo to have keys that you can switch off.
