Hi
With the price of fuel thought I would try out the eco mode on the car and got a surprise in the results.

Did a 30 mile journey ,22 miles on a motorway lots of traffic but no queues driving around 60mph and 8 miles of A/B roads no real traffic just a few stops for lights.

Checked the consumption on the app and it came in at 46.2 mpg for the journey, this is more than I expected, 22my B4, 8 speed auto 2700 miles on the clock.

I do a regular trip from Saddleworth to Bradford about 2/3rds on M62 and get around 37mpg @steady 70mph in economy mode. Still shite kicking around town though 🤬

If you want to drive something with the aerodynamics of a brick why discuss fuel consumption?!

Oh, I don't know, tricky one. Perhaps whilst wishing to drive a vehicle with the aerodynamics of a brick, peeps still want to get the best return out of it, and are happy to share their experiences🤔

Just a wild guess.

Hi
@jfdit, the post is listed in the chat forum and is clearly labelled fuel consumption, if you are not interested and that’s your choice why open the comment , others maybe interested.

Personally I'd never consider purchasing a car based on its relative fuel consumption. Doesn't interest me. Spending 40k+ on a new car a few quid either way on tax, insurance and fuel is irrelevant.
But I guess some people are interested.

Hi
@JFDIT we have all got our own views on the forum especially in the general chat section, like you, I didn’t buy the car with one eye on fuel economy ,I bought it because it sticks out from the crowd. Nearly all owner’s reviews knock points off for fuel economy , I read all of those before buying
The point of my post was to mention to any interested members that I had used the eco mode for the first time and imo achieved an interesting result.

Fair enough. But if a Ford or Skoda did 500mpg I still wouldn't buy one or care! That's my point.
