Prices on new

We're looking to get a fairly basic XC40 early next year (new reg change?) and were wondering what the likelihood of a discount was.

Nearly bought an S60 way back in the day when they were still fairly new but couldn't get a single penny off so ended up with an Audi. 6 odd months later it turned out that Volvo dealers had been illegally colluding to fix prices ie no discounts.

What's the current situation?

With the current car manufacturing crisis demand is much higher than supply, so finding discounts will be difficult.

we ordered a T5 inscription pro at the start of September, and got a discount of just over 4k.

so they are out there.

Yup, am seeing some discounts but only on the more expensive models.
As we live in London how the congestion charge progresses over the next few years is a bit of an issue as is the switch to electric.

Can’t find any discount on T2 but you can find some discount on T3 manual (same engine as T2 but with more much needed power). Found on autuebid a price of £27800 for xc40 T3 momentum manual, save almost £3000.
Some dealers are quoting March 22 for delivery dependant on derivative.

Consider joining an organisation that has access to the volvo discount scheme (affinity)....such as caravan and motorhome club or volvo owners club I think

You usually have to be a member for 3-6 months before you can use it.

You should be able to get north of 7% discount on anything above a T2

Not wishing to get involved in haggling, i told my dealer to match the affinity discounts, and i would join the club if required. They put the car through on the affinity scheme for the caravan club and never asked for me to take out the membership.
