XC40 R Design B4P 7 SPEED

Picked up my Inscription Pro B4 AWD MY22 today and can confirm it's got a 7 speed box. Also, has the reversing camera but not 360 or bliss. I knew that would be the case upon agreeing to buy it though. Hope this helps.

Wow! That definitely blows the November switchover theory out of the water. I’m hoping to collect mine next week - it’s in transit now. It’s a B4P FWD R-Design. So to say I’m a bit curious is an understatement! I hope it’s not going to be a random thing. I can’t stand the tension!!

mine is at dealers waiting for me to pick up next monday. looks like im getting the 7 sped box then too, Did you have XC40 previously? and if so do you notice any difference to how it drives?

if im getting 7 speed i hope there was a few freebies in the box ....but some how i doubt it very much.

Very strange,my dealer contacted me today to update my shipping estimate,and I asked him again to confirm the gearbox and he said “Your car will be the 8 speed gear box as the new 7 speed gearbox is due from November production.”
I then contacted Volvo customer services and they said the retailer can check your specific car order in the factory build system (called VISTA).
I have absolutely no idea what what’s going on?

I don’t think that Volvo know what is going on either, Lablads dealer is saying production of the 7 speed starts in November, my car that is estimated delivery of late November/ early December so not built yet is confirmed as a 7 speed . That info came direct Volvo customer service and supports Lablad dealers stance that production of the 7 speed starts in November.
Yet we have at least one poster saying that they have picked a car up recently with a 7 speed box ???

when i asked my dealer what gearbox was fitted he said he didnt know but it would be latest spec...which was absolutely no help at all

I picked up my B4 Momentum this afternoon! it has the 8 speed gearbox fitted , I asked the salesman about the
7 speed dual clutch he said later this year!

FrankwH, are you pleased you have the 8 speed or not? I pick my B4 FWD R design up on Monday, it's at the dealer now, so I don't know what it will have or what I'd prefer it to have.
