I've had two Volvo's with the On Call / SOS buttons inside the car but I've never used them.
I'm aware what they are vaguely for but I just called Volvo Assistance with my phone the one time I needed them for a dodgy battery cable. Missed an opportunity I guess.
Have you ever used this aspect of the service? What was it like? Did it connect you to someone relatively quickly?
Interested to hear your experiences!

I used the on call button once when my sunroof wouldn't close in the rain.
Answered quickly, tried to remote close it, but it was borked.
They arranged for a breakdown guy to come out....who fixed it using brute force and ignorance.

MY20 T4 R-Design Pro FWD in Crystal White. Intellisafe Pro, Xenium Pack, Apple CarPlay, Spare Wheel
I’ve been unfortunate enough to have used the On call button 3 times over my 2years of ownership.
1) A pot hole blow out ( no spare wheel)
2) a break down ( fuel pump failure)
3) a rear shunt at a junction
On each occasion the response was very fast and effective. It a great service and is very reassuring to have.
