And why fully autonomous cars are such a large leap.
Good Call Boomer. Although 10 years ago even TSL was a pipe dream. Development follows a Moore’s law profile.

The car definitively reads the roadsigns, and displays this information.
However it doesnt slow down the car if pilot assist is on.
Does somebody know where to set the option to get the pilot assist to reduce the speed to the maximum the car was able to read ?

It’s not working on pilot assist only on the speed limiter.
Also not on the adaptive cruise control.

Tx for the info, but not what I was hoping for :-( any idea why it would not work in those 2 modes ?

As I live in deepest darkest northern wastes north of the wall, I don't see any of those fancy variable speed limit signs to test, do anyone know if the ASL do pick up the variable speed signs often found on the motorways?

Yes it spots the variable signs.

Just seen this query. The reason I think is that the three “modes” are all selected via the same steering wheel buttons so you can only have one of ASL (which is an enhanced Speed Limiter), Adaptive CC, or Pilot Assist set at any one time.

Also, thinking it through further, if you could have say ACC and ASL on at the same time they would confuse the heck out of each other! Which one would take precedence when you are tracking the car in front at say 80 and a 70 speed sign comes along?

It would be cool if it adjusted the pilot assist speed after the road signs, it must be a oversight from Volvo... must be an easy fix.
