Looks like those tyres can be repaired, but it's a bit more of a job!

Follow the link in my signature for full data. As you can see, my average to date is 76.2mpg (which Google tells me is 3.7L/100kM)morganj wrote: ↑Wed Apr 07, 2021 7:24 pmOver the last 8000km (mostly in winter down to -20c) I have averaged 4,5L /100Km

On top of that I pay less than half the tax I paid for on my last car.
The key here is that my wife (who does a lot of local trips) now uses the car much more. I specified the vehicle with memory seats and made sure I had two black keys with profiles attached so my XC40 now gets used for perhaps 90% or all our family journeys.
All those trips my wife does tend to be on electricity only. On top of that, I make sure to charge the car each night whilst it is at home so I am starting each trip with a full battery
Your 4.5L/100Km is about 65mpg which for a petrol engined car with 262bhp is amazing. I don't see your problem
As I said, compared to previous diesel engined cars and petrol engined cars, my cost per mile is about half but by the time you factor in the savings on tax as well, are thousands of pounds per year.
Re: Replacement tyres / puncture repair.
That was exactly the point I was trying to make, that includes quite a few 400km+ drives, I just did a 240km trip in -10 in power mode and got 6,6L/100km,m@rk wrote: ↑Thu Apr 08, 2021 8:44 amFollow the link in my signature for full data. When you consider the fact that this is a 1,5L 3 Cyl engine, I find that pretty amazing.
(Last car over 2 years averaged 24L/100Km

You both have T5 Recharge cars. It was me asking about consumption!!m@rk wrote: ↑Thu Apr 08, 2021 8:44 amFollow the link in my signature for full data. As you can see, my average to date is 76.2mpg (which Google tells me is 3.7L/100kM)

No one has a problem.
Both of your consumptions are very good. Better than I was expecting. My T4 Petrol averages about 32 mpg over its 2 year lifetime so far. Although with lockdown I've only just broken the 7K mileage mark.

Re: Replacement tyres / puncture repair.
Is that a good idea? I thought tyres always had to be replaced in pairs with the new tyres both on the same axle. One new Michelin and 3 part worn Continentals?
