After an... 'animated' discussion with my partner after her use of the car and the disappearing tank of fuel, we consulted the VOC app and the driver performance graph in the Sensus screen. I'm not going to pretend I know anything about which one is more accurate for basing your figures off, but my trips (according to the VOC figures) were using half the fuel my partners were. On the same day, on the same route, with similar loads (helping friends move), I used 0.6l, while she used 1.4l. - but the figures on the driver display suggested we were both getting the same mpg.

I know this doesn't alter any of the things shared above, just thought it was interesting how much a 'slight' difference in driving style can make to fuel consumption.

I’ve just had my own Eureka! moment.
For the first time since I took delivery two and a half years ago I’ve manage to get over 50mpg out of my D4 FE.
50.3mpg recorded by VOC on a 203mile trip down the A1 and M1, steady 70mph all the way. Economy drive mode, economy tyre pressures. Never thought I’d see 50+ 🥳

Let me guess you’ve got it all down on a spread sheet 😴

Another Eureka moment. 40.3 mpg recorded by VOC on a 190 mile trip down the M4 M5 and A30 from from Membury services to Bodmin. 70mph most of the time and an an average of 65mph. Economy drive mode with mix of adaptive cruise and manual throttle.
Not bad for a T5

Wot’s all this focus on maximising mpg? 50mpg in a D4, 40mpg in a T5 etc.

Took the car mad grandkids out for a short trip this afternoon to demonstrate the midrange powers of Polestar Engineered mode. Just under 5 miles. 17.2 mpg. Fun. 🥳🥳🥳

Yep. I don't understand the idea of buying a £40k car and then worrying about saving pennies on fuel. One of the first things I did was work out how to remove the fuel consumption readout on the driver's display. I've been in blissful ignorance of the mpg ever since!

It’s quite obvious that some of you posting in this thread ( you know who you are) have no interest in mpg figures, in fact I’d go as far as saying the subject seems to somewhat annoy you. If your only reason for posting in the thread is to criticise other people’s interests and life choices then perhaps it would be best if you avoid reading or posting in any threads that have “mpg” in the subject. It would be sad to see this forum descend into a mire of criticism and confrontation, there are plenty of other social platforms out there that specialise in that. Let’s keep this a happy and informative place 🙂

Totally agree with your thoughts “rifleman”. A common sense approach.
