Got a reply from Volvo support in Sweden and apparently they know about the problem and they advise to use WiFi/Bluetooth internet connection for the moment. My carrier is Vodafone if any of that matters :|

Thanks

Hi All
I bought the Three pay as you go 24gb SIM as soon as I bought my T5 First Edition 2 years ago.
As the SIM lasts for up to 24 months, I assume it's time for a top up.
I'd like to top up 24gb for a further 24 months, but on checking the Three web site the only options available seem to be for smaller data limits that only last up to 30 days (7gb is the largest).
Has anyone been able to top up the Three SIM for 24 gb and 24 months ? Or does it mean I have to ditch the current SIM and buy a new deal with a different number?
Thanks
Tis

If you can't top up then, yes, the solution would be to buy another 2 year SIM. Yes, the number would be different but you don't use the number for anything.
As long as the car accepts the new card it should be ok for another 2 years.

Out of interest how much of the 24Gb did you use in those 2 years?

I fitted the Three 24GB, 24 month sim just over 18 months ago, I've still got 16,508 GB left, despite using it as a WiFi connection for my phone (but not that often) and always using it to update my maps.
Ordered 24th February 2018: XC40, FE, T5, Crystal White, Lava Interior (additional black carpets), 19" wheels, mud flaps, Tow Bar, Polestar, was expected June/July, then 1st October.
Finally took delivery on 16th October 2018. 8-)

Tis
Thanks for the guidance, will order new SIM.
Checked this morning, after 2 years I've used just over 6GB. Like Bob, sometimes use as WiFi connection for phone + updating maps.
