I've been trying to get some stubborn marks off the windscreen since taking delivery in December. When the screen is dry you can't see anything, but as soon as it gets damp the streaks appear, and they're not subtle, stretching from the top where they're widest (the worst nearly 10cm wide), and thinning as they head down the screen.
I've used every glass cleaner I can get my hands on, I've used trafic film remover, vinegar, polish, even the magic erasers, and it's just not getting rid of them. In daylight they're not such an issue, but at night in the wet cause a lot of flaring with light sources.
Has anyone else seen this, or got ideas to get rid of it?
Stubborn streaks on windscreen
Did you have a ceramic paint protection coating applied by the dealer? If so, could it have been poorly applied and run down the screen from the roof?Alex_O wrote: ↑Mon Feb 22, 2021 2:55 pm I've been trying to get some stubborn marks off the windscreen since taking delivery in December. I’m no expert on ceramic coatings but I think I read something somewhere about catalyst agents that can be used to remove the coating...

If the car was delivered that way, this is IMHO typically a problem to be solved by the dealer. Anything you do yourself could make things worse.Alex_O wrote: ↑Mon Feb 22, 2021 2:55 pm I've been trying to get some stubborn marks off the windscreen since taking delivery in December. No coatings applied at the dealer, but I'm beginning to wonder if this is an adhesive that's not been properly cleaned off the glass from installation.Rifleman wrote: ↑Mon Feb 22, 2021 9:29 pm Did you have a ceramic paint protection coating applied by the dealer? I had a go in the top passenger corner - out of the way if I messed up! - but it hasn't touched the marks. Thanks for the tip though.
