Yep agreed. That USB panel is shown in the instructions in the link.
R Design Pro T5 AWD in Crystal White. Convenience Pack, Front Parking and Apple Car. Couldn’t afford anything else!! Arriving late September 2019.

I found another old post that suggested the cost of a retro fit was £900 rather than £300 for a factory fit. Didn’t want to mention that though. Hope it wasn’t right. Good luck to iknowgungfu!
Two XC40s - so far! Inscription Pro T5 AWD Auto - Glacier Silver/Blond/21”, fully loaded, from Jan thro Sep 2021. Polestarred. :) Also one of the first FEs - a D4 AWD Auto - Bursting Blue/Charcoal/20" from Mar thro Aug 2018. Also Polestarred. :o

All confirms the second USB needs to be installed as well as the software.

Oddly enough - when my wife plugs her iphone in Carplay seems to be working akthough possibli intermittedly - I assume this is a power realted issue.

I rang the showroom today but they have asked me to ring services tomorrow as he didn't know the answer. I suspect I know what the ultimate answer is and that is a new US panel/hub. The big question is if theyh want to charge me for it. I checked the invoice/bill and I have paid for smartphone integration so presume that should be fairly black and white....

Hopefully just an oversight as the turnaround for purchase was quite fast. A pain to have to bring it in again and wait to have it installed at some point....

You need to also specify CarPlay, Android Auto or both...

Can't you achieve the same thing through bluetooth? I can play all my MP3 and MP4 files this way. What additional functions do you get with phone integration?

Using Android you can get Google maps to show up in the central screen. That and a host of other Internet thingies 🙂.

Don't use it myself, happy enough with the Volvo satnav.
