Yes, I feel like this is a bit of a design slip-up by Volvo for the folding boot liner. Although I guess it makes it easier to store under the floor?

I am sure some marketing guy would give it a spin that "its been designed with a protective all weather "hood" to stop things falling into your grocery bags (or similar)"

I folded it completely down onto the rear shelf using the creases as I had the awful canopy look as well.

Car is getting filthy way to quickly. Ordered a set yesterday and should be with me tomorrow. It probably won't stop it completely but will at least slow it down a fair bit.

Don't blame you though. Perhaps its due to them matching the bottom trim of the car but they just look ideal and part of the car already.
