I odered a new XC40 Inscription Pro and was told when I asked after 4 weeks that the delivery date was January. I was invited to the dealers to see the Sales Manager, who said this was correct, but they had a number of unsold ones knocking about - as in ordered but cancelled. So we had a look around his computer and found a similar car but higher spec and the dealership mainly paid the difference. Result. 2 litre rather than 1.5 etc.
After some problems with changing the insurance I logged on to the DVLA website and found it had been registered as a hybrid. Oh no! So before calling the DVLA I rang the dealership and spoke to a sales guy who said "Oh that one. Yes it's a mild hybrid". How about that? I have become (pale) green by accident.
My insurers eventually charged me £4.80.
'Different' car
It looks like it is a XC40 B5 AWD, with engine code B4204T26 and gearbox code AWF8G45.
And yes it is a mild hybrid. But despite a slightly better acceleration and a better mpg ratio you shouldn't feel any negative impact.
