Phev /t5 12v battery

Any idea how the 12v battery gets charged on a t5? Eg if only ever driven in pure mode is out still getting charge, or does it only get charge when the petrol engine is running?

When the car is running in pure mode there is a DC-DC converter that powers the 12V system from the traction battery - this will also provide charge to the 12V battery if required.

As I understand it from the manual, your 12v battery is also charged if needed when you charge the traction battery.
