You're right there..but different tyres may be fitted either by Volvo for different markets or users could change their own tyres to those that are rotation direction specific. Always best to check.

Well yes, you're quite correct. But your advice to the original poster was about Michelin Primacy 4s.
I had a BMW X3 AWD and it was recommended to replace all 4 corners as different diameters, due to wear, could "wind" the differentials to the transmission. This caused vibration and failure.
